ACGI Software Doubles Capacity of Hosting Operations, Invests In
Northern Virginia Datacenter
Citing High Performance, Added Security and Lower Costs, Growing Number of Customers License ACGI’s Web-based Association Management Software (AMS) as a Hosted Service
COLUMBIA, Md., February 5, 2007 – ACGI Software, the trusted leader in Web-based association management software (AMS) and best-practice services, today announced it has doubled the capacity of its hosting operations by investing in new datacenter facilities in Ashburn, Virginia. The added capacity will allow ACGI to effectively support new customers, of which, nearly 90 percent license the company’s flagship product, Association Anywhere®, as a hosted service.
“When we looked at the numbers and operational benefits, there was no doubt licensing Association Anywhere as a hosted service was the right decision for the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID),” said Rick Peluso, director of finance and administration, ASID. “Beyond the considerable hardware and workforce cost savings, the hosted option boosts ASID’s operation integrity and security. At the same time, ASID retains complete control over our data and ability to enhance Association Anywhere to meet the evolving needs of our members.”
To ensure the high availability demanded by its customers, ACGI’s new datacenter is housed in a high-security facility with industrial-strength back-up generators, fire suppression and cooling, as well as 24/7 monitoring and redundant connections with high-speed Internet backbone.
When they choose the hosted version of Association Anywhere, ACGI customers get the same options for selecting and implementing product modules (e.g., membership management, e-commerce, events, certification, publications, communications and more) as they would with the premise-based version of the application. Likewise, the hosted software can also be easily integrated with a customer’s Website, back-office applications and any third-party services used to support an association’s operations.
Today, IT departments must wage a constant battle to protect data and systems from viruses and other security breaches. ACGI has made security a priority for its hosted service. It employs hardware and software-based security mechanisms, including multiple firewalls, intrusion detection systems and encrypted passwords, as well as the services of third-party security consultants to protect customers from data theft and downtime.
Licensed for a fixed monthly fee, ACGI’s Software as a Service (SaaS) provides customers with ongoing support, maintenance, database back-up and archiving and business continuity protection. Furthermore, it lets associations outsource some or all of their IT operations, providing association executives with more time and energy for enhancing other aspects of their operations – especially those driving membership growth and revenue generation.
“There is no question about the strong interest in and adoption of Association Anywhere as a hosted service – 90 percent of new customers choose hosted over premise-based software,” said Kevin Hostutler, president and CEO, ACGI Software. “Our new datacenter, which doubles the capacity of our hosting operations, will ensure we can meet the service commitments we’re making today and support our projected growth over the next 12 to 18 months.”
